Congratulations to Captain Tshering Sonam and Captain Kelzang Wangchuk who have officially become Bhutan’s first Line Captains certified to fly the ATR 42-600. This is not just a momentous event for Drukair, but a golden milestone in the Aviation History of Bhutan. Both Captain Tshering Sonam and Captain Kelzang Wangchuk’s promotion from Senior First Officers to Line Captains was marked by a simple ceremony presided over by Hon’ble Yab Dhondup Gyaltshen (Chief Pilot), CEO, and other officials of Drukair.
During the event, two Airbus Junior First Officers Sonam Yonten Wangchuk and Tshering Norbu Jigme were also promoted to First Officers.
